Quarterly market read — from your own numbers to a memo the team can argue with

What you get
A five-step workflow that reads a quarter honestly from your own figures, notes and named sources: gather inputs, structured read across demand, price, channel, competitor and consumer signals, contradictions and confidence, a one-page memo, and three questions for next quarter. No number without a source, no comparison that is not like-for-like, and a read the rows cannot support is labelled a hunch. Runs in Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude Code; an experimental n8n workflow is included.
Use it for
- Turn a quarter of exports and notes into a numbers table with a source and basis for every row
- Read the quarter through five lenses without adding anything the inputs do not show
- Find the unfair comparisons, currency effects and one-offs before they become the story
- Write the one-page memo and the three questions that make next quarter easier

Here is my market-read worksheet for {{quarter}}, scope {{scope}}, with the numbers table and notes filled in: {{worksheet}}
Write the structured read for five lenses — demand, price, channel, competitor, consumer. For each lens give two to four lines: what the inputs show, citing the metric rows or notes by name; the direction (up, flat, down, mixed); and what the inputs do NOT say about it. Where a lens has no input, write "no input this quarter" — do not fill it from general knowledge, and do not add any market size, growth rate or share that is not in the inputs. Under competitor, only moves I observed and named. Return the worksheet with section 3 filled and everything else unchanged.
